General Tennis Discussion / Re: Time for the All Elite Tennis revolution to begin

Hi friends :)

I have to apologise for the outbreak of this coronavirus coz most probably it was the people in Wuhan who ate wild animals who started this horrible thing.......... >:(

Certainly no need for you to apologize. I do think though when all this is over that US are going to go gunning for China. Trump's already going in pretty hard right now and clearly Isn't forgetting how this outbreak started. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-51928011

There's going to be a lot of aftermath. This outbreak, or at least the way Trump has dealt with it could potentially cost him his presidency at the end of the year, he's a nutcase and might want to go out in a blaze of glory so to speak by nuking one of China's main cities. I wouldn't put that past him.

This is already getting really challenging for me personally. I've had to work 10 out of the last 11 days because many of my staff have went into self-isolation because either they or someone in their household is unwell. Even if all the hotels shut I'm still going to have to look after the place because of the amount of equipment (computers, hoovers, TV's, Linen etc) We've got to watch after in case someone tries to break in ans steal anything, someone has to be on property.

Anyway it could be worse i guess. I'm not worried about getting it, I'm pretty healthy and in my early 30s so i should be fine. Although my Mum is a nurse for the NHS and is also working every day and in a more high risk job. My gf and my dad are taking time off work until this blows over. My Gran's in her 80s but fortunately doesn't have any underlining health conditions so should be OK.

Still people in my city are going out in pubs and public areas. Lewis Capaldi did a gig just 2 days ago just 40 miles from me in front of 15k people. **** mental.
What's your occupation? I assume it has something to do with hotel management, right?
I'm a marketing consultant and run my own company with a crew of over 10 people on board. They've been all working at home since last week already but it our business it's not really that big of a challenge to organise everyone working remotely.
The problem is many of our clients are cutting the marketing expenditures due to complete lack of demand, so our revenue is going to go down in April and next months considerably. Only medical companies and FMCG selling first need goods are doing fine.
The spring is coming, the weather is better and better every day and they force us to stay at home. Living in the time of plague is **** depressing.

Yeah I run 2 hotels. That's why you don't see filling my shopping trolleys with 500 packets of loo roll because some from my work can just "disappear" lol.

Hopefully your business doesn't get hit too hard. It's going to be pretty tough for us all. Good that you're at least working from home.

General Tennis Discussion / Re: When will tennis resume?
« Last post by cmchelsea on March 17, 2020, 10:05:13 am »
Honestly, I'm not very optimistic about any of the slams being played this year. The only way I can see either Wimbledon or USO happening is if they're played behind closed doors.

I think the Asia swing is a likely time for tennis resumption.

A sad question really. But I'd like to know when do you think professional male tennis will resume to be played?
My guess would be: before USO but I'm hoping for it to resume as soon as possible.

Really depends now on how long the coronavirus pandemic continues.

If it sweeps the entire season then we may very likely be witnessing a changing of the guard taking place right after it.
But if the strangle it quickly then I believe the BIG3 might have a few more slams in them. Certainly Djokovic is in the best position because he's the youngest and is doing really well on hard and grass.

If I were to take a wild guess right now I would say:

Federer - 20
Nadal - 20
Djokovic - 20
