I've never really enjoyed "politics" online. There's already enough disagreements in the real world and I prefer not to have to run through them in forums, feeds or whatnot; it's generally just not worth the time. I remember a time when a poster threatened to sue me on MTF. You just try to be the best person you can be and don't pay too much attention to things like that, and have more power that way. Of course, if a person is way out of line, you can speak up and take suitable courses of action, but don't let that single person's nastiness ruin your enjoyment of life, or else they'll be the one controlling you.

No tennis until June. No surprise but still sucks. I'll be watching some old classic matches on TennisTV.
my Tennistv sub will go to waste  they are giving 2 months extension but I don't think that will be enough!

A state of emergency has been declared in at least 4 states in Australia. New South Wales is not at that stage yet but they've banned public gatherings > 500 people and it could be I will be working from home so soon after starting my new employment.

We have over 100 confirmed cases now, generally clustered around a few suburbs in northwestern Sydney and south-western Sydney.
Issue as you say is stretched health resources. Australians are generally confused about what to do. Doctors don't always have test kits available or a set up isolated space to do it. Hospitals then have a huge line up.

I'm not too worried regarding myself but I still live with my parents and both are in their 60s now, not extremely old but still in the curve of vulnerability. The worst feeling in the world would be bringing it back home with me and infecting them. I'll survive probably but it isn't too great for the elderly. People downplay that concern a bit I feel, the fact you can be a carrier to those more vulnerable - hence the need for quarantine and self-isolation.

Hopefully they can get this Virus under control and it goes ahead, along with Miami as well. I'm glad there hasn't been any cases around my area yet, but I expect that to change sadly.

These numbers are good but it doesn't mean what it sounds like. "A vaccine is three weeks away" simply means there is a prototype R&D that they can start testing with. "The vaccine could achieve safety approval in 90 days" is the minimum timeframe required by say the FDA or EMA to allow allow further clinical trials. Drug distribution, bioavailability and safety are the first things they test. Afterwards they have to run efficacy tests in phase II and III trials. Normally, these things take at least 2 years to pass (and as long as 15 years in some cases). It could be due to the crisis they accelerate these things (i.e. as long as the safety net passes, they may release early or shorten the remaining phases to market). In reality, you are probably looking at no earlier than 6 months (this is being very optimistic too). Others say 12-18 months but maybe Israel does have some of the best pharmaceutical research after all. Though it would be expensive for sure.

No disrespect to you guys as I have an aversion to MTF Admins - I still get the Facebook group feed and saw this - it's interesting that the V/S situation looks to be this way.

I had an account on TF. I think I made it in 2016 or 17 iirc. I only posted like 2 or 3 times but now I can't login at all. Not that I'm bothered about that as I haven't visited there in a long time.
Since site upgrade there's been lots of spam threads appearing and it's slower to navigate the forum, some "upgrade" eh. I don't know if it's the same with TF but that's how it is on MTF now with lots of posters just bailing.
What's the username in TF?
Well so far it's not too bad - we've weathered the storm ok - but I can see the way it might well go in the future.
Just this afternoon, I had to delete 7 spammers in the space of less than two hours. One of them posted 110 threads. Exasperating stuff.

Thanks for the offer but I'm trying to dull down my overall online presences. I could afford to splurge time on forums when I was 22, but in a little under 2 weeks time I will (finally) start my first full time paid job so have to be serious.  Maybe a good thing MTF is dying. One less thing to worry about.

BTW when's Kei returning to tennis, it's been so long now.
Are there notifications on this site? Probably not. That came as a new feature. Kei had said he would play Davis Cup but pulled out due to lacking fitness (but still on team sidelines). Understandable if you haven't played a pro match in over 6 months, largely due to recovering from surgery. He may play Miami or wait for the clay season. I still watch a bit of the tennis here and there but not nearly as exciting as you yourself have personally experienced. Federer has defied the odds the first time round but man he's made of lotto if he manages to come up trumps following another layoff.
